Rules Of the Game aces and eights Poker

When Wild Bill Hickok was shot dead in 1876 at a poker table he was found holding two aces and two eights. Since then this double pair has come to be known as the dead man’s hand. Now video poker offers special payout to a hand with four aces or four eights.

aces and eights is a game of draw poker. It differs from the normal game of draw poker because of its special payout table. The player chooses the video poker machine of the appropriate denomination. The number of coins, from one to five, is then selected by pressing the appropriate button or clicking the appropriate link.

The “bet one” link wagers one coin each time it is clicked. Some machines have a “bet max” link to select five coins at one go. Five cards are dealt on the screen by activating the “deal” link. The cards are dealt from a single deck. This implies that there cannot be duplicate cards such two aces of spades. The player then marks the cards he wants to retain by using the appropriate mechanism. The player can change all five cards if he wants to.

The remaining cards are taken away and replaced with fresh ones by activating the “draw” link. The player now has his final five-card hand. If he has a ranking of a pair of jacks or better then he is paid out as per the given table. Otherwise he loses his wager. There are extra paylines in the payout table for four aces, four eights and four sevens. The deck is then shuffled and the entire deck is available for the next game. The player can start a new game by following the above cycle. Or the player can cash his winnings by clicking the red cash out button.

The hand rankings follow the normal poker hand rankings. These are, in increasing order, pair of jacks or higher, 2 pair, 3 of a kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, 4 of a kind (other than sevens, eights and aces), 4 sevens, 4 aces or eights, Straight Flush and Royal Flush.

Payout tables can vary from online casino to online casino. However the payouts prevalent in most tables are described below. Jacks or better pays at 1:1, full house at 8:1, four of a kind (others) at 20:1, four of a kind (sevens) at 50:1, four of a kind (aces or eights) at 80:1 and royal flush at 250:1. For five coins royal flush pays at 800:1, the other payouts remaining the same. This is to encourage players to wager five coins at a time.

Usually aces and eights was played in a single line for $0.05, $0.25, $0.50, $1, and $5. But now multi-hand games are being played. There are three line games that can be played for $0.01, $0.05, $0.25, $0.50, and $1. Some video poker machines allow the player to choose three hands from ten or fifty-two or hundred hands.
