Anything’s Wild Video Poker Introduction

Anything’s Wild video poker is a great game for the instinctive gambler. He is not forced to accept a given card as a wild card but can choose a wild card based on his own gut feel or lucky number for the day or any way he wants to. This wild card then enhances the ranking of his poker hand.

Anything’s Wild poker comes from the stable of International Gaming Technology and therefore players are assured of its pedigree. It is played with a single 52-card deck. The player chooses a card that will function as a wild card for that deal. If the player chooses fives as the wild card then he can use the fives in his hand as the cards that maximize his hand rankings. And the player can change the wild card with each deal. The coin options are similar to other video poker games. The player can choose from one to five coins for each game and the coin denominations come between twenty-five cents and a dollar, with the occasional five dollar machine. The payouts begin with three of a kind in Anything’s Wild video poker.

The lower ranking hands are omitted because the advantage of a wild card is given to the player. Three of a kind pays even money while royal flush without wild cards pays 800 to 1. There are additional paylines in the payout table on account of the wild card. Royal flush with wild cards pays 25 to 1 and four wild cards pays 200 to 1. Five of a kind (possible because of the wild cards) pays at 16 to 1. The other payouts are as follows: flush pays at 2 to 1; full house at 3 to 1; four of a kind at 4 to 1, straight flush at 13 to 1.

The game is played in the normal five card draw poker format. After selecting the wild card and the wagering options the player clicks the “deal” link to be dealt five cards. The player then selects the cards he wants to hold. The player should remember to hold the wild cards that have been dealt. Some games automatically hold the wild cards. The player then clicks the draw button to change the remaining cards. The final hand is matched with the payout table and the winnings credited to the player’s account. The player can then repeat the cycle if he wants to continue playing or can cash his winnings. The game also comes in the multi-hand format in which players can play a number of hands simultaneously.

Analysts of the game have shown that the return is highest at 96.76% with twos as the wild cards and starts falling as cards of higher denomination are chosen. The return falls to a lowest of 92.71% with tens as the wild card and then starts rising again. Hence the appropriate strategy would be to choose the wild card from the very lowest or very highest cards.
